Facebook Can Help You Succeed as an Appraiser

Yes, you read that title correctly. While Facebook can certainly be a waste of time, it can also help your appraisal business be more successful. There was a point in my life where I was very anti-Facebook because I saw it as a distraction and complete time-waster. However, since joining, it has, in fact, improved my business.

For those of you who are not familiar with Facebook, there is a feature on Facebook known as “groups.” There are several appraiser groups out there that allow you as an appraiser to connect with other appraisers. There are a few benefits to this. First, it allows you to connect and network, maybe even become friends with, other individuals in your line of work. Second, these groups create an environment where you can talk about your concerns in the appraisal world, find out about appraisal events in the country, and get advice from others. And thirdly, it gives you the opportunity to be better educated about what is happening in the real estate and appraisal worlds.

While Facebook may not be for everyone, I encourage you to at least check it out and see if it would help you personally improve your business. If you would like more details or to know about some of my favorite appraisal groups check out the corresponding podcast on this topic.
